How to get help with Tabsend, report a bug, or tell us about a security problem.

The short version

  • Email contact@tabsend.org. One person reads it, so replies can take a few days.
  • Found a bug? Open an issue on GitHub.
  • Found a security problem? Don't post it in public. See below.

  7. 7. Privacy, terms and deleting your data

1. Get help

Email contact@tabsend.org. Say which device and app you use, and what happened. One person makes and runs Tabsend and reads every message. Replies can take a few days, and sometimes longer.

Tabsend is made by Zinnia Drive LLC, in the United States.

2. Report a bug

Open an issue on GitHub. Say what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. Leave out your server address and your pairing links. Anyone can read issues there.

3. Report a security problem

Please don't open a public issue for a security problem. Follow the steps in the security policy, or email contact@tabsend.org with "Tabsend security" in the subject line.

4. Tabsend needs a server

Your devices pass links through a server, called the relay. There are two ways to get one:

  • Run your own. It is free, but it needs a domain name of your own to work away from home. Without one, it only reaches devices on your home network or running Tailscale. The setup guide explains how.
  • Use the hosted service. It is not open yet. Join the waiting list to get one email when it opens.

5. Remove a device

Open the device list in any Tabsend app, on a device you are keeping. Choose Remove next to the device you want gone. A device can't remove itself, so do it from another one.

  • In the browser extension, the list is in Settings, under Devices.
  • In the Android and iPhone apps, it is the list of your devices on the main screen.

If a device you don't know shows up in the list, remove it. It could read the links you send. Delete your Tabsend data says what removing a device deletes.

6. Which apps there are

  • A browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers
  • A browser extension for Firefox
  • An app for Android
  • An app for iPhone, as an early preview

Safari on a Mac is not supported yet.

7. Privacy, terms and deleting your data

  • Privacy policy: what Tabsend handles, who else gets it, and how long it stays.
  • Terms of service: the rules for using Tabsend.
  • Delete your Tabsend data: how to remove a device or delete your account, and what we keep.

License

The apps are open source under Apache-2.0. The server code is public under FSL-1.1-ALv2: free to run yourself, not to resell as a competing service, and it becomes Apache-2.0 two years after each release.
